Our Learning Lab: Therapy Based School Readiness

Program Overview: School Readiness Solutions offers a trauma-informed, therapy-based learning environment tailored to children aged 4–6, including those in Prep, who benefit from additional support prior to or during their early school years. Our sessions are facilitated by qualified early childhood professionals and are designed to strengthen foundational developmental domains essential for successful school participation.

We focus on:

  • Emotional Regulation & Social Confidence Children engage in structured routines and guided peer interactions that build resilience, turn-taking and self-advocacy.

  • Executive Functioning & Attention Skills Through play-based therapeutic activities, we target working memory, impulse control and sustained attention—critical for classroom engagement.

  • Motor Planning & Sensory Integration Our sessions incorporate gross and fine motor tasks that support handwriting readiness, postural control and sensory modulation.

  • Language Development & Communication Rather than isolated phonics instruction, we embed language goals within meaningful contexts—supporting receptive and expressive language, narrative skills and pragmatic communication.

  • Routine Familiarisation & School-Based Expectations Children are gently introduced to classroom structures, visual schedules and group learning formats to reduce anxiety and increase confidence.

Program Outcomes:

Children participating in our program demonstrate:

  • Improved confidence and readiness for structured learning environments.

  • Enhanced communication and social interaction skills.

  • Strengthened literacy foundations and fine motor coordination.

  • Greater emotional regulation and self-awareness.

  • Holistic developmental progress, giving families peace of mind.

Led by an experienced early childhood teacher with a background in early intervention therapy, our sessions integrate evidence-based strategies, occupational therapy and speech support resources—including visual tools and therapeutic materials from providers such as Busy Books Australia—to meet each child’s unique needs.

Small group sizes (up to 5 children per session or 1:1 teaching) allow for tailored support, high engagement and meaningful skill development as children prepare for or adjust to school environments.
