Ready, Set, Learn!
Our Learning Lab: School Readiness Capacity - Building Program
School Readiness Solutions offers a trauma-informed, therapy-based learning environment tailored to children aged 4–6+, including those in prep, who benefit from additional support prior to or during their early school years.
Our program operates as a structured, term‑based series, with each 55‑minute session guided by weekly capacity‑building themes that strengthen emotional regulation, social connection, communication, and early learning participation.
Our sessions are facilitated by a fully registered VIT early childhood teacher with:
Experience as an early childhood intervention therapist working directly with neurodivergent and therapy-seeking children.
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
A deep understanding of developmental needs across diverse learning and neurodivergent profiles.
To support family routines and reduce transition stress, we offer a drop‑off and pick‑up model, helping children settle into a safe, predictable and nurturing environment.
Our practice is grounded in trauma‑informed care, developmental support and family‑centred approaches. Each child’s goals are supported through evidence‑based, play‑based strategies that build confidence, independence and readiness for early learning environments.
Program Goals:
Each session is designed to build the foundational developmental skills that support confident and successful participation in early learning and school environments. Our focus areas include:
Emotional Regulation & Social Confidence Children participate in predictable routines and guided peer interactions that nurture resilience, turn‑taking, cooperation and emerging self‑advocacy.
Executive Functioning & Attention Skills Play‑based, capacity‑building activities strengthen working memory, impulse control and sustained attention—key skills for engaging in structured learning environments.
Motor Planning & Sensory Integration
Sessions include a range of gross and fine motor experiences that support handwriting readiness, postural stability and the ability to manage sensory input in busy settings.Language Development & Communication Language goals are embedded within meaningful, play‑based contexts to support receptive and expressive language, narrative development and social communication skills.
Routine Familiarisation & School-Based Expectations
Children are gradually introduced to classroom‑like routines, visual schedules and group learning experiences to reduce anxiety, build confidence and support smoother transitions into school settings.
Program Outcomes:
Children participating in our program consistently demonstrate:
Growing confidence and readiness to engage in structured learning routines.
Strengthened communication skills and positive social interaction with peers and adults.
Development of early literacy foundations and fine‑motor coordination needed for school participation.
Improved emotional regulation and awareness of their own feelings and needs.
Steady progress across key developmental areas, giving families clarity and reassurance about their child’s learning journey.
Our sessions draw on therapy‑informed strategies, early childhood education principles and recommended resources. We use visual supports, sensory tools and structured learning routines to meet each child’s individual strengths and support needs.
With 1:1 or small group learning formats, we provide personalised support, high engagement and meaningful skill development as children prepare for or adjust to school environments.
The Goal
To activate the child’s own natural desire to learn and grow their confidence!
Because when learning feels safe, playful and meaningful, confidence begins to grow from within. We don’t push children to fit into a mould; we create space for them to explore, connect and build skills in a way that feels right for them. Whether it’s through gentle routines, visual supports or confidence building, our focus is always on helping children feel capable, curious and proud of their progress.
